Faces - I did this painting right after watching the movie Secretary. I have several good friends in the BDSM community, although I am not personally a member. I feel there are many layers of interest there, and the people have an amount of courage that goes overlooked. To find pleasure in the way that makes you feel fulfilled, no matter what the norm, I have to tip my hat to that ideal.

I used oils on this piece, which I had missed greatly having done many acrylics before. I haven’t done an oil piece since this, in fact. I didn’t use brushes either, I used popsicle sticks. Something hard and molding, to give texture and impressions, without a clear picture. Some people see three faces, some more, some less. I like to think its one face shaking back and fourth…
