Home of my Heart - This is one of my favorite paintings. I was born in the south, but raised in southern California. However, I am a local at heart. New Orleans is my greatest love affair. The pink figure cradles her love in her arms, the cathedral, the dome and the bridge.

I had a dream about this image and sketched it out in the corner of my journal. It is rare for me to have a solid idea instantly, but with this piece I did. I did the background first, having it fully orange and then adding the black over. I added the water meter symbol over the city landmarks, because I love the story of the water meter symbol. Just like all of New Orleans, full of hidden secrets and history, filled with interesting stories and people, if you just take the time to look.
