Mom N' Me - This is a piece on my mother and myself. As all women do, I think, I have a lot of feelings-good and bad and weird and confusing-about my mother. I split the canvas, myself on the right and my mother on the left. We both have an ocean, because that is a big part of both of our lives. I was with a  good friend of mine once, sitting at the Pacific and watching the waves, and he said something that meant so much to me I've remembered it since.
B: You can tell the difference between my mother and I in the way we are with the ocean. We both love it, but she wants to be on a pier, watching, not touching. I'm just the opposite. I have to touch and feel the water, the sand, all of it. It's how we live our lives. She stands back and watches, and I get in and move things.
R: See. You are a writer.
