Premiere - This is about preparing to change. The figure waits behind a curtain, ready to go on into a show or a new area of life. Some have also seen it as the figure walking away from an old way, looking towards the brighter future.

I originally called this piece “l’historie”, which is French for “history”. I see the figure walking away, no regrets, and swing in her step of confidence. This was the first time I’d used a human-like figure in a piece as a main element. I did the border first, and feel in love with those warm colors. Then I painted the figure, which is seen as a woman by almost everyone who comments on this piece, and then I did the purple and white last.
